Our Morning
Mission

We created First Thing for ourselves because breakfast felt like a compromise. Spend time cooking, overpay for convenience, or skip it altogether. When there wasn't a high protein bar made for mornings, we set out to build one. Made to start your day right.

Meet the
founders

Christian Mancheno, co-founder of First Thing Bars

Christian Mancheno

Co-Founder

Marketing and entrepreneurship at Pitt, then six years selling software in Austin. He crunched every number and sent the recipe back for another round more often than Ben would like.

Ben Fuhrmann, co-founder of First Thing Bars

Ben Fuhrmann

Co-Founder

Economics at Wisconsin, then sales in Austin, where he grew an eyedrop startup from five states to twenty-seven. He built our brand book, and makes everything you see us post.

Who we made
First Thing for

Gym goer

Works out most weeks, and values getting real protein in every day. Breakfast is the meal that gets missed when the morning runs short.

Commuter

Out the door before eight, eating in transit or not at all. Needs a breakfast that travels and still holds until lunch.

Health-conscious

Reads the panel, not the front of the box, avoiding added sugar and seed oils. Would rather not overpay for a healthy breakfast.
