First Thing is a Chicago company. Our bars are made to our recipe by a food manufacturing partner, from ingredients sourced in the United States and abroad.

How long do the bars last, and how should I store them?

Every bar is printed with a best-by date six months from the day it was made. Keep them at room temperature somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sun. They do not need refrigeration. The bars are held together with coconut oil, so they can soften in heat; that is normal and they are fine to eat.

Where do you ship, and what does it cost?

We ship anywhere in the United States. We do not ship internationally yet. Standard shipping is $4.95 on orders under $55 and free on orders of $55 or more. Express shipping is $15 at checkout. We pack and hand off orders within 2 business days and email a tracking link when your box is on its way.

How does the Weekday box subscription work?

The Weekday box is 20 bars, four 5-packs, for $79.99, and it always ships free. Choose all Strawberry Parfait, all Banana Nut, or ten of each. Buy it once, or set it to arrive every month at checkout. Monthly boxes bill on the same date each month, and you can cancel any time before your next billing date with no fee and no minimum. Cancelling stops future boxes; it does not refund a box that has already shipped.

Can I return bars?

Because they are food, we cannot take them back once they have left us. So instead of returns, we fix problems: if your order arrives damaged, wrong, or not at all, we refund or replace it in full, and you keep whatever arrived. Email hello@firstthingbars.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number. We cannot refund opened or eaten bars unless something was wrong with them, or a change of mind about a flavor.
